Embrace It and Face It: Healing Yourself From Within

Chronic pain doesn’t just affect your physical health, but your mental and emotional health, as well.

As I sit here and reflect on how much I want to teach you about healing yourself from within, I start to remember all the things that I have had to overcome to acquire this knowledge in the first place.

I have had many injuries to my physical body, as well as emotional trauma and extremely low self-esteem.

Learning to heal myself from within and finding out who I am outside my injuries and illnesses took me on a 20-year trek to healing.

Some people look at me and think, “She is so strong and put together. She is so lucky to have these healing gifts.”

But I am not “lucky.”

I had to work really hard to get to know myself from within.

The most important lesson I’ve learned in this journey is that “chaos breeds chaos, and balance breeds peace.” The more I was in chaotic energy, the more adversity I encountered.

However, as soon as I discovered my Body Within, I started to balance my energy. Once my energy and life became more balanced, there was no more chaos or adversity. There was only learning more about myself and how the world really works, not how I was taught to believe it would work.

The Body Within knows what’s best for me in every choice that I make throughout the day. Educating myself about that part of me provided more answers for self healing than I could have ever imagined.

It has also helped me to teach others about self healing.

Healing Yourself From Within

When I see clients, their whole being is consumed by their pain and how unlucky they feel. It seems unfair to them that they have to make all these changes and adjustments in areas of their lives that most people don’t ever consider. They feel that everyone else is lucky, and they’ve drawn the short straw in life.

Are you feeling that way, too?

Maybe you wish that you could eat whatever you want and do the physical activity that others do without a second thought. Maybe you’ve even suffered from depression as a result of your chronic pain and constantly feeling left out.

I understand those feelings more than most.

However, it’s important to see the bigger picture, and that’s something I always try to work on with my clients. There are endless possibilities in front of you!

Unfortunately, we live in a society that subscribes to a specific idea of what’s “normal” and we’re all forced to try to fit into it.

But being outside the norm isn’t always a bad thing.

I’ve spent most of my life outside the realm of what’s “normal,” and I wake up everyday with gratitude. For example, I have an appreciation of how good the food I can eat tastes. I’m thankful for it, instead of focusing on the food that I can’t eat.

My Body Within alerts me to picking the best food possible for endless energy that day. Meanwhile, many people living in the norm have no idea what their food does for them, either in the moment or long-term. Most “normal people” don’t even give it a second thought! If they do think about it, they make choices based on what someone else said is good for them, not what their body really needs.

I’m also so excited when I reach new physical highs that previously felt impossible! I am over the moon when I have very little pain in a day. I cherish that I have to take more time for myself everyday to self-heal. It gives me a sense of purpose and awareness of life- the things around me that only I can experience!

I look at the so-called “lucky ones” around me, and I have to admit… Some of them have absolutely no idea how wonderful life is and how important the little things are, like quality food, the right amount of exercise, quiet time, sleep choices and knowing when enough is enough and too much is too much.

These are all the things that will add up over time and bite you in the tush if you’re not aware and present.

As a result of becoming a self healer, I feel whole and full of purpose everyday. By continuing to reverse the damage my body sustained in my younger years, my older years will be filled with more ease. I can honestly say that I am the strongest, most fit, most flexible and most focused I have ever been. As I enter the second half of my life, I’m only getting better, not worse!

If you are someone in pain with physical or emotional challenges, your purpose is to get to know yourself and begin healing yourself from within.

As you get to know yourself, you will start to discover that there are so many more possibilities for you to improve your quality of life than you ever thought possible. As you learn more about healing yourself from within, you will also learn that you possess far more purpose and strength than most.

The so-called “lucky ones” would never survive the amount of energy that it takes for you to get through a single day! Turn that energy into positive healing energy, not depleted, wishful-thinking.

You are who you are.

Embrace it and face it.

The days will become so much brighter once you do, I promise.

My hope is that one day we all (including the “lucky ones”) wake up everyday with the intention of asking our Body Within to help us to make choices for our greater good, not just for instant gratification.

When that day comes, the world will be a brighter, happier and healthier place.

Remember…
