Staying Healthy During COVID19

What if all your stress and anxiety surrounding COVID19 didn't have to exist? 

The idea of staying balanced during a global pandemic may sound bold but let’s look at it slightly differently. How do you personally calm the chaos surrounding yourself from the virus?

During this time of challenge most of us rallied and took on the challenge, made the changes to our lifestyle, our work, and our family, never really knowing it was going to last for a long time. 

It's more important now than ever to take care of your health, both physical and mental. Having a clear and balanced mind is key to navigating stressful situations. 

Medicine is a tool to help. YOU are your answer. 

The Coronavirus has also shown how healthcare is vulnerable in a major way. For acute care it has its huge benefits but most of us were shut off to health care for chronic issues, non-life threatening issues and preventative care.

That is why getting to know your Body Within is so important.

A lot of the chronic issues that we were shut off to do not have to be if you understand you have internal power to heal them. Getting to know what I call your Body Within will benefit you not only through COVID but everyday living and growing old gracefully without the dependency of medicine.

Many of us are still here learning how to adjust to a new normal.

First know that life if ever changing. So to keep the focus off life going back to normal is only going to cause more stress. 

Here are some key tips to help you through. 

  • Everyday sit with what’s happening, not what you want it to be and make decisions from there. 

  • Living a life of balance is key to taking advantage of all the opportunities in and adversity. 

  • Focus on rest, nutrition, and exercise to keep your mind sharp, your stress down and your body strong. 

  • Lastly, take some “me” time to process. We tend to make decisions out of reaction. Work to see the bigger picture in every choice and you will be surprised at how your choices play out. 

Chaos Breeds Chaos, Balance Breeds Peace

Stress is one of the most degrading actions to your health. Who is not experiencing some type of stress right now?

It’s important to remember that life is ever changing, that is the one constant for everyone. Don’t dig your heels in and fight the change or you will be left with more chaos than you can handle. 

It does not matter your age, job, or lifestyle. We are all impacted by stress one way or another, and the effects of the stress from COVID on your health are much greater than the virus itself. 

You are what you eat. 

Nutrition is always the first place to start. If you fuel your body properly, your brain is sharp, your energy is strong, and your body feels good. 

Nutrition tips to keep your brain sharp, body strong, and your life more balanced. 

  • Pay attention to simple carbs. Sugars are the one way to set your life in to chaos 

  • Sugars come in many forms: junk food, alcohol, unbalanced meals and lack of protein, sugary drinks, stress eating

  • Be mindful and pay attention to see if you can make some changes

Add more fruits and vegetables 

  • When under stress you use more nutrition because your body is in a chaotic state 

  • Try adding more greens or soups to get more veggies in your meals

  • Eat more balanced meals with a protein and complete carbohydrate every time you eat

Mindful eating

  • Take time to pay attention to your food choices and how you feel a half hour after you eat

  • If you are not energized, take notice and change the foods up. 

  • If your food does not energize you, your brain is not sharp. You are out of balance and so will your choices 

You are your own healer!

Stay strong. Don't let adversity take you down. Even in chaos, we can find opportunities to make positive changes for ourselves, all you need to be is balanced in your life to help you be present enough to see them.
